Dont say LPG it....?
Does anyone know which is the most economical diesel engine that can be fitted to a T25, I appreciate that i could be asking how long is a piece of string, but I have a mate who owns a scrap yard and he offered me a TDi engine from a passat for £200 and he reckons it will do me a massive turn. Not sure about the cost to have it fitted, but it seemed like a good way of getting better economy whilst giving the van a bit more poke

a well set up TDi will do 35-45 driven conservatively I believe, but you may have to rebuild the gearbox too.
LPG 14p per mile on a 2.1 syncro hi-top, it would have to be a good diesel to match that and the conversion cost of lpg is lower than an engine swap done right imho
here come the tractor boys..............

£200 is very cheap for a TDI engine cheif
If thats the AAZ engine then its the one im looking at doing when cash allows
Although mines a diesel already, so less work / parts involved for me initially.
If you do decide to LPG yours, let me know as I have a friend who does the conversions and Im sure he'd sort you a good price out:)

Cheers for the replies guys, not really sure wot to do for the best,
The diesel went to some guys i met at GOTH, I wasn't sure how much it would cost me to fit and as always when you take a step back to think about it, it goes. With hindsight it was a tremendous bargain, but the reason for my deliberating was i wanted to see paperwork.
