No heat.
I cant get any heat to come out my vents. I let the engine warm up nicely, switch the heater switch (the one with 1,2,3, on) and all that happens is cold air comes out the vents. I tried the sliding controls in every different position but still no heat. Anyone know why no heat? Thanks.

Ha! Mine is the other way round....... lots of sliding but no cool.....just heat....
Mine due to the cables not actually working properly.
If you are water cooled, could be the cable aren't attached to the sliders...or the little valve in the water pipes behind the rad (i think) isn't connected to the cable, or if it is, it isn't working.

Set it to hot then go through the bleading cooling system thing. Leave it on hot and go for a drive, give it time to push the air out, hopefully it'll start to warm up eventully. When its set to cold there isn't any flow through the heater so it won't unlock itself unless its on HOT (always set to hot when messing with cooling system). Also worth having a look at the heater hoses as far as you can see in engine bay/behind dash/spare wheel - If a hose is kinked it'll restrict flow.
If the leavers don't feal like they are doing something check cables.

Yes I had that when I replaced my fan motor. I discovered that the cable operating (or not in my case) the hot water to the heater was not adjusted properly. You need to close the valve manually and adjust the cable so it shuts the alve right off just before it runs out of push (or is it pull?)ermie571 wrote:Ha! The valve wears too so that when it's fully closed it still allows water through. Not an expensive item to replace (£20ish) but a pain in the butt to do
