Reliable Edinburgh garage recommendation?

Post by hobobus »

Hi All

I'm a vw newbie, having just bought a really lovely 1985 Westie Joker Hi-Top (1.9i petrol watercooled auto). She's in fab condition and drives like a dream, but I'm looking for a sound garage in Edinburgh who can help me look after her (haven't a clue what I'm doing in the engine).

Anyone got any recommendations they could pass on? I'd like to get her a good service before the temperatures drop from someone who can be gentle with her advanced years ....

Thanks
Hobobus

Recommend JM Motor Engineers in Falkirk (01324) 611492 if that's not too far away - give them a call, good guys to talk to.

In Edinburgh you have.

John Forbes Automotive it is closing after 27years as Edinburgh's top VW specialist. If you quick you may still get booked.

If not there top guy Gary is moving to

Sam's at http://www.pfpcoachworks.co.uk/ 0131 663 4819.

Roseburn garage at Murryfield. Only down side they are not so good at time keeping. They look after there garages before normal punters. Alway busy and they know there dubs.

The local clubs have a good range of skills and tools, There are four main central belt clubs for vans. All will have stalls at the Bathgate show at the end of the month.
