14'' syncro front pad replacement query...

Post by freej »

 i am having trouble releasing the lower pin on the caliper so i can swing it up to get the old pad out and replace it. i have a cd rom workshop manual for t25 which says it includes syncro but it does'nt show this type of pin release with rear rubber dust protector only the bolt type!

how do i release it? does it need pushing thru with a punch....

remove dust cover, undo allen headed bolt till it wont undo anymore, with a drift=punch-screwdriver=nail=drift shiny pin out,if its seized your caliper wont float and cause issues,cj.
bought some real off roaders!!!!!!!

you can press them back with a prybar against one pad, but if stuck you might want to think about refurbing them as there's probably some corrosion in there.
Keep an eye on the fluid reservoir as level will go up. You might take the opportunity to renew the fluid unless you know it's fresh, check the colour in the reservoir, should be almost clear/pee colour, dark is contaminated.
