Bar removal...

I've got a bar that runs from side to side right behind the front seats, it's quite restrictive specially if I want to get captain seats. (passenger seats are currently screwed into bar).

Question is, can this bar be removed without compromising safety or rigidity of the van?

Never seen any other van with this bar?

I was speaking to someone at a show this year that reckoned those bars make a very noticeable improvement to the handling.

I have the bulkhead and bar removed form my van so i could fit comfy seats and a swivel base. no difference in handling at all I'd say. Tis a bit more noisy up front now though.

spose it depends how you drive them.

Hubby has one with bulkhead, and I have one without. I haven't noticed anything different. I had a bar in my old caravelle..... it was "only" there to hold the twin seat unit back in place as we needed an 8 seater at the time. You will loose the twin seat if you remove the bar, as the seat back is not supported by the base.

Removed mine after asking advice on here, same as you have. No problems whatsoever. Now have swivel seats fitted and all is so much better. My own opinion is it's better out than in.

I saw a T25 at Viking Volksfest who actually had a bar in his, comlpete with Carlsberg pump.

Cheers for the replies, pretty much answers my question.

I don't mind losing the twin seat in the front, as I'm planning on getting two single seats anyway so I can access the cab without getting out or climbing over the seats!

*E D I T* Does anyone have any pics of before and after or similar, as wouldnt mind seeing how holes in the side would be covered.

Covered the pillars where the very small spot weld holes were left with vinyl of the appropriate colour, using automotive glue. You can leave some of the panel behind and tap to shape with a hammer, or carefully grind it all away. You should not end up with large holes!

The bars I've seen have been held in with 2 bolts and 2 screws ... hence when we put a bar in Matt n Torz's Velle I put rivnuts in the pillars to bolt the bar to.

first you must remove the landlord , then make sure the optics all face the rear and be careful with the cocktail sticks .I want a bar in my van
