Panels for panels?

Post by olliew23 »

I have recently aquired my wedge panel van with some home brew modifications and i unfortunately was unfortunate enough to meet a yaris the other day at speed,he was stopping at speed and i was not!!!!!

I now have a few repairs jobs ahead of me.

I managed to split the radiator
damage the front bumper
body behind the front bumper
middle centre section
upper centre section
both front wings(but repairable)
and worst of all destroyed my homebrew interior.

absolutely gutted!!!!!!

I'm staying well away from my insurance company as i cant cope with them telling me its a write-off and offering me £20 for it.

I've removed, sourced and fitted a replacement rad so she is now running again and not bleeding all over the road and boiling the engine.

My dilemma is finding panels!!!!!!!
There does not seem to be a scrap yeard near me that will let me cut panels off the t25's they have( yes a t25 in a scrapyard!!!!rare as rockinghorse s*$t)
Breakers don't seem to stock the panels
Motor factors dont seem to have those particular parts which i was hoping for a cheaper option than justkampers and justkampers still dont have all the parts i need.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE i need help as i cant cope with seeing the poor thing all covered in battle scars, wouldn't mind so much if i had of hit something decent, something big and worthy but not a bloody yaris!!!

ah well thanks for the sympathy. i could do with it. Only had the bloody thing for a month and i ruin it!!!!!! grrrrr

Give me something to do though i suppose.

My fault for staying out late, waking up late, leaving late, being in a hurry, not paying attention and not upgrading(installing) the braking system!

Good luck with the lower front panel - we couldn't find a new one for love nor money. Ended up going for a good second hand one.

Schofields should have an upper front panel (well they did a couple of weeks ago.) They should also have the A Posts for you too unless again they have sold these in the last couple of weeks.

It'll also be a good second hand bumper if you can get one.

Try volksheaven on 01302 351355 they're in Doncaster, they might be able to help.

or email this guy: peterpochie@madasafish.com
admittedly he is in Scotland but he has lorries that come down this way all the time, he might be able to help you.

We're only just down the road from you (not far from Salisbury) and know how hard it's been to source the parts for our accident damage.

The lower front panels aren't available any longer whether air cooled or water cooled. We even tried to get Schofields to make us one and they said no. They said it wasn't worth their while.

They haven't had a bumper in for months and can't get any. JK can't get them either because their manufacturer abroad has broken their machine that makes them.

We bought Schofield's last front grille, they weren't expecting any more in for the early T25.

primed!!!cheek!!!lol the bumpers seem to be ok bit dented but easily bashed back it the area of body that the bumper covers that is my issue.the smash has revealed some hidden rust and i'd ideally want to replace that area completely but im thinking it may have to be a fabrication and patch job which i'd rater not do as my skills are not up to it.

well i have managed to get the replacement radiator and fan in and all plumbed after a novice shotcut nightmare. thought i'd be lazy and tried swapping the rad and fan complete with one i pulled out of a fire damaged wedge from the local scrappy(R.I.P). Old one out,new one in,pipes plumbed in went to connect up electrics and the connector for the fan motor is diff!!!!grrr could mess about swapping connections but think i'll just take the whole lot out and swap fan and housings over. Practice makes perfect and all that.

The guy at the scrappy has now finally agreed to let me cut up the wedge at the scrappy so i can have lower panel and panel behind front bumper, just getting the time off work to do it now.

so getting there.Tried schofields for the panels and they said they no longer supply lower or area behind bumper. salvage it is and a bloody great big hammer.

will post pics as i go if anyone is interested
