Yes they are!

Remove the dash pod from the van, remove the black bulb from the back of the clock unit and carefully remove the flimsy PCB from the clock bit (theres a 2 pin conector for clock power, you can leave the rest of the dash PCB alone, probubly best that way). Undo 2 screws on the back of the clock and the clock and carryer will come out. On the face of the clock there will be 2 more screws that remove the clock from its carrier - retain carrier, you'll need it for your new clock if you don't get one off another T3.

The clock itself is common to other VW's of the era (without MFA computer, says on the wiper stalk if ones fitted) so is much easyer and cheeper to get from car in a local scrappys than a T3 with desirable revcounter dash - I know for a fact Sirocco digi clocks are identical as I've fitted one in my van. I say identical, the only differance is it has nice green backlighting (probubly the resion the part numbers are different).

If you strip your clock down first and get an idea what it looks like, you can go to your local scrappy and strip dashes till you find one - just take the hole middle bit if it looks roughly right, you'll get spare LEDs then. Takeing the hole dash pod from the scrap car will be easyer but it'll probubly cost you more and you won't want the other instrements, might be worth takeing the green plastic strip too if you want backlighting to match the clock.

They seem to go a bit wierd when you first power them up, sometimes showing numbers out of sequence or non numbers. Once you've timed it though it should be fine.
