handle upside down action

Post by funkypaul »

Hi,
At Vanfest, as is becoming traditional, something broke on my camper. I tried to open the sliding door but the rod connecting the handle to the catch snapped (thanks Phil (philippacman) for helping me and explaining how it works).
Bought a new rod and fitted it...but now to open the door from the inside you need to lift the handle up rather than push down. Know it's something stupid but any advice on how I should be connecting the rod to the door handle side so it goes the right way? (i.e. push down to open)

thanks,
Paul

Make sure you have fitted the release cable to the front lever so it is in the correct position to operate.......

Ours works both ways,,,,,push forward to close/ pull back (lift) to open, you may have the release handle in the wrong place..

Cheers Fritz, I actually just realised I'm being an idiot (again)- I put the handle on horizontally to match the outside handle, where it actually should go vertically... then it all makes sense.
