Hello all.
We have the standard electrolux RM 212 three way fridge that many of you seem to have.
It was working fine at the beginning of our recent holiday but after a few days , stopped working on gas and 12v but still working on mains.
Funny thing is that it lights ok on gas (can see the small flame in observation window) but will not get cold.
Any ideas??
Am gonna take it out on the weekend and have a look / general clean up and see if there is anything obvious (blockages)
Any thoughts appreciated.........
Cheers
Shaun
Not another fridge question!!

Yes , made sure it was level(ish).....didnt get a spirit level out but more or less.
I thought it a bit wierd that it wont work on 12v though (while driving)
Not really sure how the gas and 12v problem can be related??
Have read about cleaning them out and then leaving them upside down for 24hrs.........guess that could give anyone a new lease of life

The cooling system on your fridge is driven by heat.
You have 3 heat sources , gas , 12 volt & 240 volt.
If it works on at least one of the heat sources there is not a problem with the cooling system itself. No need to tip it upside down !
The gas problem may be a partly blocked jet , fit new jet & clean burner & chimney out. ( there should be a twisted tin baffle hanging in the chimney to dissapate the heat in the correct place )
There are lots of things to check on the 12 v problem, supply, fuses, relay, switch, element ......
Dont run the fridge on more than 1 heat source at a time twice as much heat = no cooling !

That's great . Thanks very much.
I am acutally terified of removing the fridge this weekend.....not because of the fridge itself but what i might find behind it!!
Hopefully a good clean and changing the jet will cure problem with fridge.
