We are in the process of looking for our first campervan and the burning question is, 1.6TD or 1.9 plus petrol.

We are after economy but also require some grunt, You guys are best placed to answer my question objectively.

thanks for your advice and help in advance

If you need 'grunt' then you'll need either a 1.9TD conversion or a 2.1 petrol preferably converted to lpg

Ian is spot on....1.9TD (already converted) or a 2.1petrol which you can then run on LPG... £850 +vat Gasure.

Average 35mgg Diesel
Average 23mpg Petrol X2 for LPG (effective 46mpg) I think the recoupe is around 12,000miles so everything after that is a bonus.
