VW Part Nos, hoses...

I have a pre-formed VW coolant hose off my old 2.1

It has some numbers moulded into it, difficult to see, but repeated at regular intervals

Are these the part number?

Is it of the form xxx xxx xxx(*)? First group probubly 251 (*= optional suffix). If so yes, if not its not a VW code but it could be a matereal spec code or part number from the manufacturer.

Glen, No not 251, that's why I ask, so will have to transcribe the numbers, being a bit lazy, was just surprised to find them on hoses..

How olds the hose? If its a replacement that could be the date it was made and the person who inspected it/batch no...?

No idea... but that coud well be the date. No problem now, think I've identified it, thanks...
