you'll need the white sticker info to confirm what it was, type number, interior code and M codes

your question

My understanding was that in 89,90 and into 91 the Westfalia interiors where returned to VW production. Prior to that the Westfalia interior was fitted in the van at Westfalia works. As such Volks also changed the names so the Joker and Club Joker became the Cali and Atlantic restpectfully (with a few extra parts being thrown in). My understanding is the interiors of all these vans was grey and not brown. I`m not an expert here but I think there is every right to be suspicious because I thought the Club Joker stopped when the transfer took place ie during 89.

I herd although VW changed the names from joker and club joker to Vanagon (calafornia/atlantic respectively), that was for vans bought from VW dealers. If you bought it from westy you'd still get a joker after VW changed the name so late ones can exist. Don't know about trim though.

Check the plate on the plinth under the back seat.
Theres a thread on the Westy forum that deciphers it, one of the figures gives you a model year.
But, as far as I know, from '88 on they were all grey, as noted.
Also as noted, again as I understand it if you bought a Westy from VW it would be an Atlantic or California, but you could buy a Westy from other sources and they would come as Joker/Club Joker, but with a grey interior.
