pierburg carb adjustment

Post by robs5230 »

still trying to rectify the problems that my previously perfect engine now has after its trip to a " have a go mechanic "!!!!!!

one of the things he did after incorrectly adjusting tappets was to fiddle with the carb to try to get it running right . ( which it was never going to do )

the thing he adjusted was : there is an adjustment screw of some kind facing to the rear of the vehicle set into approx a 50mm tube . this comes out of the centre of the carb just under what looks like a vaccum mushroom thingy

does any one know what it is and what the factory setting is ?

currently without transport and as stressed as a stressed thing on a stressed night !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That would be the idle speed screw
and it's setting is 950 rpm

the "mushroom thingy" is the choke pull down unit
