1y intake manifold

Post by caveman »

Can anyone share a photo of a stock 1.9 1y intake manifold. I have an ADG industrial which will be swaped into my transporter soon. I would like to see what is installed in a car application in case in need to go bigger-which i almost certainly will, including a cold ram air intake.

BTW the reason i'm asking is because here in Canada we never had that motor here in a car so i have no reference to go by.

I'm just fitting one, it's very tight!
I am going to have to "fettle" the left hand side panels of the engine bay.

Have a look here...

Excellent. Lets see some pics when you've shoehorned it in.

If its like the Golf Gti, then the chassis will need a good seeing to, or the manifold, or both... photo somwhere of what was required a bl***dy nuisance... Can you machine 1/4" safely off manifold face, will point it down farther and might just miss?

If theres lots of meat there, might even angle the machining, if you see what I mean...?

No.3 and 4 I think rubbed worse..

I see what you mean, but is it that much more deeper than a CS or KY ?
What other alternative can be used on those motors? Mine has what looks like a turbo intake [flat and vertical with a small bolted on inlet ] and i don't think it will flow enough for the extra fuel i will be supplying.

It fits.
However we had to notch the chassis leg and weld in some strength for what we took out.
We now have the engine sat in and bolted up.
No pictures as, well, we didn't have time for fannying about!
Panelling to LHS of engine bay also took a pummelling!

Crap. I really don't want to cut any part of the body . i would rather have less power than damage an almost pristene body. I don't even want to cut a hole for my antenna. I guess i'll have to see how well a CS manifold matches the ports on the head.

It deffo won't go in without cutting.
We have cut something like a 6" x 4" chunk out, welded the chassis back then welded a plate over it to smarten it up.
It also sits surprisingly low, not at all where I expected it to sit.
