My new fridge?
I have just got a brand new fridge aftrer mine finally packed up whilst in Newquay, anyway i cant phone the guys i got it from as there at a trade show in Germany!!! So here goes its a RM4210 as shown here fridge It has a 8mm gas intake but looking inside it it has some sort of foam inside it should that be there ?? Plus it had a rod dangling in the exhaust whats that for ??????

Thought dangly thing ment to be there just wondered what it does? The foam im not sure what sort not like packing foam nore like sponge??? Its inside the pipe that goes to the main control valve its only a short bit of pipe and easy to take off just dont want to remove the foam stuff if ment to be there !!!

that is the same as mine ( well to all intense and purposes, mine is a 4123) the foam shouldnt be in the pipe, the twirly thing should be in the zorst, its to increase "draw"

Fridge.
Just seen your query about 'sponge' in gas inlet pipe.
It should be there. It is a filter. I removed mine when fitting my new fridge and then discovered from Dometic what it was. Should have found out before removing it. Had to buy another one.

Well if it is suposed to be there to late mines gone!!! I tryed to blow through it and couldnt so how gas is suposed to get through it god knows!!!

Fridge filter
Must admit I could not see the point of a filter either. My old fridge ran for 15yrs+ without one and that was fine. But it was a new fridge, it came with a filter, for whatever reason, and in the unlikely event that I needed to make a claim under the terms of the guarantee I thought I had better leave it in, or rather replace the one I had taken out. It probably would work just as well without it but ??????
