Re-indexing a turbo

Post by ringo »

Has anyone ever done it?

I've read the wiki:

https://club8090.co.uk/wiki/Tu ... e-indexing

Which is great - but is it really possible for someone with normal tools to do it?

I've got an AAZ turbo and i want to re-index it so it will fit with the JX manifold.

Im assuming i need to undo the six bolts (as indicated thats going to be hard) and loosen the circlip - is it just a case of then tapping the bits round so i get the right orientation?

Thanks guys

aaz turbo re-index

ive just done mine best put in a vice undo the 13mm bolts and spray load of wd40 arond the joint its very tight tap lightly with a rubber hammer but mine came undone when you got it free undo the 10 mm bolts on the silver part of turbo this should then let you turn the centre part of the turbo the part with the oil in and out get the oil in and out at a 12 oclock and 6 oclock posion staight down for return to sump you will need to use a bango bolt for the oil feed in at the top due to hitting the jx manifold im installing mine in the next few days so hopefully i got it right dont hold me to this but a turbo spealist told me this way best of luck

Nice one darren.

Did you have a problem getting the 13mm bolts off?
