Which screen rubbers ?

Post by annette88 »

Have just spoken to a human robot at JustKampers ! No help at all.
Have a 1981 westfalia T25 with the plastic type double glazed windows, soon to be sprayed and therefor requires a full set of window rubbers, should we buy the set for factory fitted windows or the panel van conversion set ?
Are the ones at JK okay or should they be bought elsewhere ?
We would appreciate any help on this as we don't want to start stripping the van out until we have the replacement bits ready.

Don't buy JK window seals - they are crap. I bought a windscreen and rear screen rubber and the quality was crap and the guy who fitted them said the same. Also bought side window rubber for panel van conversion from JK and it is completely the wrong shape / type.

I would try Seals+Direct (Google it!). I have just bought the correct window seals from them and they are loads cheaper than JK (about £5 per window!), the quality is great and their service was fantastic. However, to get the correct seal I had to take the old one out, measure the apertures and length then get some samples from them of the closest matches to check it fitted. This was a lot of hassle but worth it to get the right rubbers. Alternatively, give them a call - they might know exactly what you need?

Hope this helps,

Chris

Yes, thank you, a great help, you just don't know if a product is any good until you've tried it and by then it's too late !
