Mystery switch

Post by gingerbike »

Have recently acquired a T25 and am baffled by a switch on the dash which doesn't appear to do anything. It's a toggle switch above the hazard light switch to the right of the fuel/temp gauge. Anyone know what this does, or is meant to do?

we had a similar mystery switch under the drivers side blower vent.

took us about 3 mins to figure out it was a immobiliser.

went something like this....

"That was great the van handles really well and sounds fine"
"lets pull over and play with the stuff on the dash"
---lots of button pushing---
"ooo thats good...lights...flashy...sparkly...clickty"
"what does this do.....not a lot by the look of it"
"oh well lets get the van back and make an offer"
"err"
"vans not starting"
"what have you done ?"
"nothing...honest"
""pooh"..nothings working"
"there is a flashy red light....try that switch"
"ok......"
"oh....i guess thats the immobiliser".
