Check out the Brick-Yard link. The colour will depend on exactly when in 1987 your van was built. (N.B. BUILT NOT REGISTERED!)

Sorry, Am I missing something? My van was built in 87' but its not that colour.

Does anyone know the name or code of that colour? Is it original VW?

Methinks it looks vaguely Vauxhall Corsa colour .... but it's only a hunch.
