Fitting big bumpers - assistance required please!

Post by ringo »

hi,

I've got me self two deep bumpers - and am now wondering how the hell i fit them.

Front and back have got sticky out bits that attach to the underneath of the van (i imagine)

My question is, what brackets do i need to make to fit these to the van?

Thanks

How do Ringo,

There are Two holes in the front which require special bolts that screw into the front of the van (these are still available from VW for a few quid).

The Two bottom brackets also require specific fixings but what i did was cut Two small lengths of 15mm copper tube (about 1" long) to take up the space between the bracket and cross member, i then drilled a 6mm hole through the cross member (in line with the bracket) and used long bolts up through the bracket, copper tube and crossmember.

You will need some 'repair washers' between the bolt and bracket 'cos the hole is quite big.

Any probs call me and i'll explain 07976 273285 .
