Subaru just fitted to T25

Post by CHUG A CHUG »

Have just had a Subaru 2.2 16v fitted to my 1990 T25 this week, and bought it home today, found the Temp Gauge lighting up, so l took it back and they bleed it again to get Air out, on way home the gauge needle still going forward and backward, anyway got home and decided to bleed the Front Rad and found no water or air coming out of it, l even took the bolt out of the Rad for 5 Min's, still no water came out, the Water tank still full, l would have thought the water be pissing out by now, but no, re tighten the bolt, any ideal why it not flowing to the Rad properly, would appreciate your help.

If you can reverse it onto some ramps so that the header tank is above the top of the radiator, take the bleed bolt out and fill. I ran mine on the ramps for a while to make sure all the bubbles were out.
Who did your conversion? Got any pics?

Rad bleed

Post by markscoot »

Seems you have a lot of air in there bud. Richard Jones`s advice is to fill the system from the front bleed hole. Check his cool website for full explanation.
Fill using small washer hose with bucket syphoning down from roof of the bus till full. Takes a while but effective. System contains about 15 litres all told.
Done my conversion myself and fabricated many parts but would have taken alot longer without a fellow engineers advice.
Hope this helps, give him a shout if you get stuck.
Cheers. and well done for diy, you learn more that way dont ya?
