Just noticed the hinges on the roof vent are broken. If I was to drive it it'd fly off. Another problem is I'm off to bestival in a couple of weeks so I've gotta drive the old girl from London to Southhampton onto the Isle of wight I don't think fiamma don't still make the size anymore, I think it's a 36cm, so it's gotta be a bigger one. My questions are.
How hard are they to fit?
What sort would people recommend?
Will I have to replace the head lining or could I get away with cutting the new hole without damaging the lining?
Does anyone sell replacement top bits (you know the clear plastic bit)

We replaced our vent which had a badly broken / cracked cap and was the same size as yours. I managed to find and buy 2 direct replacements for these after taking it off and identifying the original manufacturer stamped on the lid - Elixir Industries in the US.
Unfortunately, the did not appear to ship to the UK but I Googled 'Elixir' and found the 2 replacements I mentioned - I think they were both via Ebay in the end.
In summary, you can still get these if you search for them and at a reasonable cost - mine was £24. My PC at home is down at the moment which had all of the details on of the supplier sorry but as I say try Googling!

I bought a new one off fleabay, £30-00.
Marked the roof with a black felt tip & used a 3" mini grinder to cut a nice neat hole (sized according to instuctions).
Then i cut the interior with a stanley knife & the vent was dropped on top with a good spludging of sealer & the bottom bit screws on from inside and the vent trim hides the cuts. Perfic & I even made a blackout with the square piece of roof that i cut out, so it can slide into a slot i made & no early morning light gets in the high top. Cutting the hole and fixing took 30 mins...Measure twice chop once....

I fitted a 3 speed Omnistor to my van, but I had to make the hole bigger, which is quite tricky as the hidden glass fibre pop roof reinforcing frame is very close to the old hole. I ran a wire from the leisure battery, under the roof lining material to the fan. It works a treat, and on the 1st and 2nd speeds it is virtually silent. On hindsite I should have fitted the model with the inbuilt thermo, then It would work on autopilot.
