Camping in Brighton

We're staying at the Sheepcote Valley site in a coupla weeks, does anyone know it, is it ok?

Also, I know about the lanes, the Royal Pavillion, the sea front etc..... very nice, but any other bits I should be lookin' at in Brighton (we like to eat out and wander about a lot!

just outside brighton is decils dyke a nice high country area good for walks etc also you have quiet close(1 miles or so) worthing eastbourne etc also other seaside towns

plenty of eateries down the front and the lanes

The marina is just a 5 minute walk from the site, some nice places to eat down there,

Errr site is big and away from street noise I recall it being a tad expensive

what sort of places interest you ..Bif Tam is right is walkable to Marina and lots of shops and restaurants down there , also to save trying to park you can get no 7 bus into town from Marina

are lanes and north laines , also

Yes, it is expensive, probably because it is a CC site and I'm not a member! (Although I'm a member of C &CC, why don't they amalgamate?)

Thanks for all the info, I wasn't aware of the marina! Worth a look. Food wise we like to try a bit different rather than the bog standard Indian, Chinese, Italian or Harvester for that matter!

Hi

We use this site alot (it is open all year).
There is a good bus service into town(number 1 or 7). It is a 10 min walk to the stop.
One good thing is that the number 7 is a 24 hr service, every 30mins at night. It runs from Whitehawk (the local area) right through to Hove Town Hall.
Great if you want to go for a late beer,as there are no good pubs near the site.

I could never book in advance with this campsite.

I've stayed twice - and loved it - but last time was just told it was "full" so i had to drive home....

Have they changed this? Does it make a difference if im in the CC (god forbid) ?

don't park up in whitehawk. if you are just crashing in the van then anywhere round elm grove, hartington road, southover street area alright for a night, though can be troublesome if you wake up wanting a pee.
