1.7d head gasket

Post by paddyponchero »

Hi,

Does anyone know where to get the 1.7d head gasket, tried searching the forum but the 1.7 bit is ignored.

Thanks

Paddy

I don't stock them as they aren't very popular but I'm sure I can get them if you get stuck.
I shouldn't imagine that many people will stock them as they are that unpopular, but they are out there.
I should also imagine that VW still sell them at a premium..

I have just check with my supplier (Thought I had better be informed!) and there is stock in germany, though not in the UK.

I'll tell you what I will do...

That gasket (or rather those gaskets as there are 3 to choose from same as any Diesel VW) will be needed by someone else at some point I feel sure, I will order one of each in for the sake of having some and i will keep them on the shelf.
They will have to come from Germany so it could be 2 weeks before I see them, but they will be available to buy from brickwerks.co.uk very soon.

If you need one quick, try VW (derr... :)) try Eurocarparts and GSF as well as a local motorfactor or 2 and if they all draw blanks wait till they are on the brickwerks website for sale.

Just to let you know, I've e-mailled an order off to the supplier (11pm on bank holiday monday)
So, I should have them in the next few weeks, maybe sooner, depends if I catch the next delivery in time.
So, they will be here soon if you need them or not, absolutley no probs if you shop elsewhere, probably best I have them anyway.

Simon.
