Hi
the rain has stopped here for a while and there is a round orange thingy in the sky making me feel all warm and campy ............
problem is this my carpets are wet in the front on both sides i suspect a leaking windscreen but there is no obvious rot on one side and not that much on the other ........my questions are
1. Can the window seal leak without rust being there
2. If it can can it be sealed using something and where do i put it .
3. If it isnt leaking through the window where else could it come from ......
AND finally on the water where it shouldnt be theme ...........if rain gets past the seal on the wind down windows where does it go ?....does it drain out or just sit inside the door there making rust?
thanks
Andrew

Yes it can leak without any sign of rust... mine did for a few months... everything looked perfect. No paint bubbling, rubber seal looked in really good nick, but large puddle under the mat passenger side. It just happens that my next door neighbour runs his own windscreen business! What luck! ...20 minutes later he has re-sealed the rubber and leak is cured... Apparently the seal breaks down over the years and just needs some new sealant, don't even have to remove screen, just pull the rubber away from the screen clean out and refill and all for the price of a drink.

Only a possible answer to question 3 , I also found carpet in the cab wet and like you thought it was coming from the windscreen , when I had the dash out to fix the heater blower I couldn't find any rust around the screen so decided to give it a good soak with the garden hose and see . It turned out to be running down the side pillar and through the radio aerial hole then dripping off the coaxial cable , I unscrewed the aeriel and put some silicone sealant on the rubber grommet and that solved it .
