could it be a cooked coil??

Traveling back from holland 2 days ago had all kind of probs with me van. Its a 2.1 wasserbox. It just kept loosing power n cutting out. Several times it happened on the way back ended up beeing towed home. I have changed all the spark plugs and cleaned the dizzy. there is some gunge comin from the coil so thats what makes me think that is the prob now. If it was shot what would be the symptoms??

Ne advice would be appericiated.

Sounds like you've hit the nail on the head there, the coil shouldn't gunge and it is losing its oil bath with is sealed probably due to overheating, put a new one on and be happy that the majority of your above problems will dissapear

just check the rotor arm too just changed mine doing same sort of thing wash out the dizzy with petrol and the rotor let it dry and start the van i had a black ring round the inside the dizzy couldnt see it till washed everythig first just a thought
