Pack a very long hookup lead. Then the extra resistance makes it almost impossible to draw any current without all your lights going dim....

Just spotted this thread & thought I'd put my penny's worth in. I asked the same question about two months ago as we were planning a trip to France, been & come back, 4 weeks, 5000 miles!! Anyway, I connected to electric once for 3 days whilst over there & that was only because the gas ran out on the underslung tank. Having never filled it before, it came with a full tank when I bought it, I was a bit nervous as to what to fill it with, instructions in German, me English! Filled it eventually with LPG from petrol station, €15, lasted 3 weeks using fridge constantly & cooker regularly, still going strong but indicator broke so not sure how much is left. Not bad though for a tenner.....and the kettle only took 2mins to boil, not long to wait for the morning coffee, especially bearing in mind that campsites will add an extra €3-5 a day for electric.
