Very nice, is that going to be a workhorse, or an off road plaything.

I think its going to be my daily drive + driveable project. Always wanted a big old Russian truck & I think this is about as close as I'll every get.
I'm looking for a good rust-free locker door & Blue captains chair & double square headlights/grill.

Karl, rent, buy, borrow or steal a gazebo/marquee to put it in.
I admire your courage.
Keep taking the photo's.
It's not a bad idea to use poundland spray paint to cover any bare metal, or wash straight over with kurust or vactan, just to give it a surface.

Yeah should of done that, having just seen the weather forecast!!
Does anyone know what product VW put on the inside of their wheel arches? Its about 3mm thick, grey & rubbery. Bloody good stuff until it cracks & you need to get it off!

Been even busier!!
Three arches done now. Forth will have to wait until I've driven it a bit more, fed-up with the dirty, rusty, welding stuff.............
.....so decided to have ago at some pretty new shiny welding. Borrowed a pipe bender. Lots of sweat, toil & trial later.........
I've got a new, roll-bar/roof-rack/wheel-carrier
Drilled the roof above box section so nice & strong.

Very happy with the end result. Gives the doka a totally different look. But alot of hard work....................

Good stuff Karl !
Seeing all that makes me feel better about the scale of my own obsession..
I've been thinking about a cab brush-guard, along the lines of the one CJ had on his orange pickup. Where did you get yours made ?
