Vanfest - any spaces in the Syncro compound?

Post by mud »

I want to take my Syncro to this years event but the Vanfest site says all camping tickets are sold. Does that also apply to the Syncronauts compound which I spent several hours gloating in last year?

I hadn't heard of a Syncronauts camping area, a few of us from on here will be in the 80-90 area which is possibly full now. There may well be informal Syncro camping groups of course. The word is there'll be on-the-gate tickets despite the advance-only policy. There's room for overflow camping but its over the road.

I meant the 80-90 area and not Syncronauts

If there are any spaces left can someone let me know please or I'll have to pitch up with the 2WD brigade

Look in Events or Members Only. Kevtherev is organising.

Just found the following on justkampers forum, looks like the original post was from one of the organisers, below was posted on 3rd August:

VANFEST ADVANCE BOOKING For Camping Is Now CLOSED

WE ARE NOW ALSO AT FULL CAPACITY FOR CAMPING

There is no futher Camping Area available at the showground. We will not be able to take any pay on the day/at the gate campers

You will still be able to come to site as day visitors (Sat & Sun)

As far as i know kevtherev has a few people on the reserves list if any of the 75 already booked through him pull out.

Just read that the organiser is going to be talking with local landowners and campsites to see if he can get any further camping sorted (offsite obviously) so it may be an idea to keep an eye out on the vanfest website or email them to ask them to contact you if anything comes off.

Re vanfest tickets

Post by desert rat »

Hi, I have spoken to the organisers at vanfest and they have acquired some land for camping which will be off site! If you ring them up you will be put on the list for off site camping - they are also going to be running shuttles! But you need to ring quickly to get on the list! I found this out at Tatton Park at the weekend! 8)

VANFEST - OVERFLOW CAMPING AREA
OK, Boys & Girls, as the big secret is out I'd better tell you how to get your tickets for our first VANFEST Satelite Campsite.
I am trying to get a few more but this one is available now. It is taking a bit longer than I'd planned to get the admin side of it in place (but finally got the missus to agree to do it)

The Site is approx 1Km away from the site. It is limited to 500 spaces. There is a surcharge of £10 per vehicle on top of the normal W/E Vanfest entry fee. We will be running a shuttlebus service between sites or you will be able to take your vehicle to the Vanfest Day Visitors Car Park. It is first come first served, but those already on our holding list will come first. Once its gone its gone. We do not (contrary) to the many rumours flying around have any more areas stashed away (YET) & cannot/will not take any pay on the day camping - we are already up to last years figures at the site for camping. If we get any more space we will make the anouncement.

Send me your requests for camping on this link; & I will send booking form

http://www.vanfest.org/email.asp?stage= ... =Organiser

Kind Regards

Simon

Thanks for the info everyone, I was really only interested in staying on the main site so I'll be just visiting for the day but it sounds like a good option for others who like me, plan late  :D
