Ignition lock replacement.....please help.

Post by Barongreenback »

Hi all, does anyone know how to remove the old ignition lock at all?

Been trying to replace mine but there are no screws or anything.
There is a plate at the side which moves a bit but it looks like it has some metal tabbs pushed in to stop it from comming out, I dug at them a bit but didnt seem to make any difference.I also looked at the bottom of the ignition housing where the plug pushes on, there are two small tabs in a white plastic part which you can push outwards a bit but when I try to push them and pull, it won't budge either.
I am worried i'm gonna brake summit, so if anyone can give some guidance that wud be right grand that wud!
Cheers!

ignition barrel

the easiest way is to offer up the new barrel and mark the coresponding point on the barrel casing where the retaining spring sits , and drill a small hole in it [3mm] .
then turn the key to the first position, push a punch into the hole and pull on the key .
one other way is to grind the side of the barrel away and use a pick to push the retainer in
