Electrolux RM212A Fridge...any help with getting her going?

Post by happypixie »

Hi,

I cant get to an instruction manual for this in the Wiki bit..tried entering the product number also but it still wont have it! :-(

It's not igniting..holding in the dial for 30 seconds then pushing the ignite button quickly a few times but not doing anything..if you let go of the dial and push ignite again then it lights up orange for about 2 seconds before going off..presumably its burning off the bit of gas there...

does anyone have this model fridge or can think of what i might be doing wrong? i've never personally lit it before, someone else did it for me so it has worked before..that was about a year ago tho!

Thanks

Hi, I recently had a similar issue. If you take off the metal cover on the back (three Screws) then remove the little glass cover bit you can clean the gas jets out.
I also took the option to light the burner with a match at this point to make sure the gas was flowing.
When Lighting I have the dial on position 1 and fire her up, after a good clean it seems to work fine now.

I have the instruction manual for my RM212F I don't know what the difference is between the two models. If it is of any help a brief guide to lighting it is:-
1. set voltage regulator switch to "O" ie, is in the central position
2. turn gas control knob so that 3 is opposite the indicator mark
3. push gas control knob in fully for about 5 secs to clear air from pipe
4. still pressing the knob in operate the piezo igniter several times in quick
succession. Continue to press the knob for a further 15 seconds for the
thermo couple tip to heat up.
5. Release gas control knob and check that the burner is alight.

I hope this is of some help
