fridge not getting cold

Post by aliandgary »

We have an electrolux 3 way fridge in our autosleeper and the night before we're due to go on our longest jaunt yet it has packed up!
We have it hooked up to the mains, and the vent is getting hot but the inside is not even remotely cold. It has always worked fine on gas, hook up and battery until tonight.....any ideas gratefully received.

We're on a very slight slope ( our drive) but have used chocks to level as much as possible. We have done this before and it has worked.

The vent on the outside of the van is getting hot? I can't think why that would happen when plugged into the mains. Have you tried it on gas to see what happens then? I wonder if it needs to come out and spend a few hours standing on its head (or given a good shake for a few minutes) to remove any crystals that might've formed inside the tubes on the back? If you try this though, you then need to leave it the right way up again overnight before switching it on.

Have you checked the fridge fuse in the control panel on the wall:

Hope you get sorted and have a good holiday.

Hmm, ours was working fine until it got hotter in the middle of last week. Even parked dead level it wouldn't cool at all on Gas - although I could hear it igniting when turned on.

I just wonder if it just isn't desperately capable when the temps hit 30degrees. Will know more when it cools down again - tis coming out soon anyway so will give it the 180 degree (angle -not temp) treatment.

Had the same issue before. A long drive on bumpy roads seems to speed up the self-healing.
