Broken coolant level sensor!

Post by mirams »

Hi everyone,

Don't suppose anyone in the Nottingham area has a spare coolant level sensor (petrol DJ - same tank as DG) lying around do they? It doesn't have to be working, just to bung up the hole! Mine was seeping a bit and just snapped in half when I tried to tighten it up! I'm supposed to be taking the van over to Gasure tomorrow.

Thanks

Gary

PS If you are reading this Steve - I'll give you a ring in the morning to let you know if I can't make it :(

Gary,
I can't help with a sensor, too far away anyway, I don't know what size hole we are talking about but could you not fit a (Large?) bolt or some threaded plastic plug of some kind, just to keep the system pressurised for your trip to Steve.

Perhaps a tapered bung of some kind (I used to do quite a bit of home brewing) with a strap around and underneath the tank, (big cable tie? for instance).

Where there's a will...........

Thanks to the Nottingham gang for offers of help. I've got out the bits and managed to superglue it back together. It appears to be holding so far, I think it should get me to Chester and hopefully back again!

Thanks
