coolant blowout

Post by markscoot »

Hi fella, when you switch off, engines kettle up because there isnt any coolant flow to cool em down. Take a Golf mk 3 for instance, the cooling fan runs on and cuts in after shut down.
yours wernt built like this so the pressure and temp will rise for a short period after shut down.
Nothing to worry about, just tighten all clips up throughout the system.
This is regular practice after any new build or major work.
Oh yea, dont forget to add sufficient antifreeze/summer coolant as the Subaru lump has small passages and dont like corrosion.
Also anothr tip, dont overdo it and make it too strong coz it will rot yer rads.
Hope this helps. Cheers. Mark. 8) [/b]
