Rang JK, ditto. Their mods, bash oil inlet pipe and dent (if steel), file some away if plastic, bend offending pipe on fuel pump  .........cancelled the order and, since I have one with misaligned intake, cut it back and soldered a pre-formed copper pipe section with an olive on the other end, looks cwap but should get me out of trouble if needed. Might go electric as it would suit the LPG conversion heaps better!

Fuel pump

Post by Sas »

Sorry, not had time to check engine yet, but definitely water-cooled and says on reg docs that it is 1915cc. Have spoken both to GSF again - and the our nearest VW camper garage who are excellent and both confirm that only the 'wrong' pump is now produced. VW garage have modified the 'new' pumps before - bending one pipe into alignment - and we have now booked our camper in to have this done. Also had various sources again suggesting an alternative would be to fit an electric pump, or to track down a second-hand correct version. Many thanks for all advice and help - will let you all know how we get on.
