no flashing light!

Ok folks,

need help - big time

A reg 2.1 with 1.9 electrics if it makes any difference

my little red light does not flash when I turn the key as the self check. Nor did it come on when it lost all its coolant recently.

Have made the fan work - Hooray!!
Have made coolant system leak free - Horray!!

Have replaced the sensor....no change
Have checked voltage at sensor when ignition turned on, at the spade connector..small reading...should it be 12V?
Have checked voltage behind little red bulb...again not 12v but something showing. Can do it again if important

Where do I go now?

Em, if it doesn't flash on switch on then the problem is more likely to be in the speedo cowling or the led is faulty. First question, does the temperature guage work?

Also, have put info on how to check the coolant level/temperature circuit on the thread for ' flashing red light' in this forum. Assuming there are no major differences between a 2.1 and upgraded 1.9 that is!

Might be worth checking the tracks on the dash pod connector, thats what stopped mine working

Thanks both!

Yep - everything else on the front works - temp guage, other LEDs.

Will go and print off instructions for testing circuit, and look at how to test the track too.
