Brake Light Switch

Post by thelonghairedfreakypeople »

Hi all,
Going on holibobs next week with my better half and 5 kids in a Caravelle towing a trailer tent. Checked the electrics today and sod's law the brake lights don't work. Spent all day tracking the fault down to a dodgy brake light switch. Question is can I replace the switch without leaking brake fluid into the footwell or is it better to drain fluid and remove the master cylinder first. I have another Danbury in the garage with a poorly engine so I could rob the switch off that if it's that easy.

Put a rag under it and do it quickly, you will not lose a great deal of fluid if any at all, best off getting a new one, GSF don't do them as I tried last week, JK have them in stock about £3-4 each

Should have mentioned also there are two types, a 2 wire and a 3 wire switch, just check before stripping your van.
