misfire

hi

i have a slight misfire, it manifests itself as a putting, which i am more aware of when it idles, but cannon tell if its still happening under load/revs, on my 1y, I am off to italy next week in it and would prefer it fixed. So, what are common causes for misfire on a diesel as i have little knowegle of them?

Ill put it into a garage if not.
