syncro conversion

is it remotely possible to convert a 1989 panel van into a syncro? is this outlandish? would it be cheaper just to buy one? thing is, i love what i've got, but i also love syncros!!!

Many have looked into it; most have walked away, I believe one conversion was done by Mike Ghia a few years ago ??

We here have looked at it too! You will need to carryout some major structural reworking and be realy nifty with a welder!
Also a lot of spare time on your hands will be needed or a divorce :lol:

thanks for all your replies, so it is possible but expensive and by the sounds of it will take time.
does anybody out there do these kind of conversions or will it be an undertaking of my own?

i am a novice but would like a hobby!!!!

Yes its possible, I own the vehicle in question :D

It's been done well and the truck has been ultra tough and reliable bar typical VW maintenance issues. You can ask him but Mike told me its a lot of hard work.
