Have done a couple of long-ish trips recently (200 miles in a weekend) and have noticed oil leaking onto the road whilst the engine is still hot. A mate pointed out the other day that the push rods(?) may be on their way out as the were small spots of oil on the rear bumper. He explained that if the push rods (or the seals) were leaking then a small amount of oil would be lost whilst driving. Is the 'leak' likely to be the accumulation of the spots of oil leaking out of the push rods or could it be more serious than that (getting quite a few drips from the bottom of the engine now after a 20 mile journey)?
He also has a T25 and showed me a bag of shiny new push rods that he has fitted to his own van. Is it an easy job (I don't mind getting my hands dirty and can follow instructions, i.e Haynes manual but should this be done by a professional)? Any advice on the oil leak or push rod fitment?

Pushrod tube seals can leak, but so can many other parts,
Clean up the under side of your engine, have a run around to get the oil warm, then try and identify where the oil is leaking from, try parking over a sheet of cardboard.

Right, cleaned up underneath and on top (engine cover also has oil on it) and went for a gentle couple of miles. Came back and put some cardboard under engine - got about 10-15 drips after 10 mins (from no discernable spot) and top of engine looked like it did before I went out. Oil light is not on in dash and oil level checked out ok before I went out...pushrods?
If your engine cover has oil on it, I'd be looking at the rear oil seal. The one nearest to you as you look through the rear hatch. Check the crankcase breather is clear, If you get pressure in the crankcase, oil gets forced out.
Pushrod seals will drip from left or right hand side of engine, mid way back.
Though oil can creep over the entire underside.
