Post pics of your Beds / Interiors please-ideas required!!

Post by Lewis »

As above please, we basically have a blank canvas in the back of our T25 and want to start by installing a bed of some sort in time for our trip to France. Only prob with the R&R bed is because we have the Audi engine installed the rear engine cover sits a good 150mm higher than standard, so the R&R would need to be mounted higher than normal if you see what I mean? We are mainly looking for ideas to make/buy a decent bed of some sort, while also sorting some storage space too! All photo's/help appreciated,

Thanks :)

Why not just pay a visit to the 'Garage' at the top of the page?

This is worth a browse:

but is probably more aimed at picking a colour to go with your surfboard!

You need a Devon Bluebird RnR bed ... these have a steel frame and the back drops onto a platform which is normally ~4" higher than the engine lid ... raise this bed base by 2" and Robert's your Auntie's husband

Hope this helps, Ian.

You'll need to ring round the Club van breakers or try a search for 'Bluebird' on eBay etc. Be prepared for an unpleasant surprise on the price though !!

JK beds are just hinges and boards, as I said the Bluebird ones have a steel frame, including a base which can be bolted to the floor ... or in your case through the floor AND a 2" packing

Good shot James. The earlier Devon ones have a base frame at the floor level too.

Our R&R hinges also need a platform for the bed to meet the back, we have a some pics if you need to see, but you don't need a full frame bed to get the clearance you need. :D

The back platform was with the interior when we got it, but you can make one it easy the wood we used was 14+ 1/2 cms wide which didn't need cutting down make a frame with supports in the middle and put a lid on. :D
