caravelle headlining - factory 'holes'

here, i am putting a caravell headlining into camper converstion. its all in, but i have some holes in the headlining that i dont know what they do.

the cut outs in question are cut into the lining above the side door, one at front one at the rear and the same on the other side. the cut outs are bigger than the interior light cut outs.

anyone know what they are for?
