Get them to fit an M6 nut extender and a piece of stainless threaded rod. They may have to re-cut the M6 thread on the original bar and perhaps braize it for strength.
Ian.
NOTE ... this is only a repair I would do, probably better than it was when you bought it, however it's not a replacement part, which by all accounts you'll really struggle to acquire.

The first part of Ian's sugestion is about as good as you going to get away with,,,,,,to get you through the test.
But forget the idea of brazing/welding any part of the rod because this is a No No as far as Mots are concerned.

Any good fastener supplier should have them ... IFS or similar ... where are you ? Drop me a PM if you're really stuck ... I'll see what I can manage.
BTW the braizing was to stop the nut coming loose ... you could studlock it instead. ??
Ian.

As Ian said.
You could probably make a more than acceptaple repair with a coupling nut and threaded 6mm bar, although you may need a 6mm die and wrench to clean and or extend the existing threaded section.
lock the coupling nut with two standard nuts either side.
For example: Top and bottom on this listing.
