VW must still be laughing...
at back of 'pod' with speedo in are two small handgrips...
sit in driver's seat, grab the pod and pull up (and slighlty forward)
Ta-Da!
Can't miss the bottle once the lid's off. Wiring in there can be a bit delicate, so be careful about knocking things too much.

I think that designer was having a damn good laugh tbh, nuts and bolts in out of reach places, allen bolts where you cant get a key in,
am I missing any?....
