Biggest tyre size you can fit to a syncro 14?

If u look at ure photos u can see the minimal clearance on the rear of
the front arch.If u where off road u Will catch the arch with ure tyre.If
not, u are not using the suspension travel therefore not realy going the full hog.This will also catch when applying the brackes hard on tar as the nose of ure syncro dips.
In my opinion this should be even more of an problem seen ure van is a heavier camper.
Or u have fitted very stiff (but no extre hight)springs.
I used to catch the front all the time on my last standard 215 75 15 MT's
If i braked hard on my road tyres (215 80 15 AT's) they caught the front arch.
I am not using this post as an argument or any disrespect to anyone but purely an information point for people.
If u use Seikel springs then yes u can fitt slighty bigger tyres but u still have the problem of clearance on the rear trailing arm.
This information is compiled from a lot of experimentation(by myself) and personal experience.
At Syncro-Nutz we are constantly looking at all aspects of modifying syncros BUT STILL KEEPING THEM SAFE FOR OFF AND ON ROAD USE.

Hi Amulet,
They arn`t Alloys there steel Mach 5 rims made for me by a guy in Doncaster.He only makes them for Land Rovers now though,Check out "Landrover World" or "Landrover Owner" for his number you never know he might be persuaded to make some more!

Matt Lee is the guy who makes them and they can be made in any size, PCD or offset, as they're made by him, at his workshop.

Took my time in replying to this just untill I'd spoken to Matt...

Seems that Matt is not that keen to produce the Mach5 wheel for a Syncro any longer. I spoke to him at length and he explained the difficulties in producing what would be to all intensive purposes a bespoke set of wheels. The upshot is a cost of £150 per rim and another £25 on top of that for any kind of finish.

I like the Mach5's alot but that's alot of wedge - I've also enquired with Bernd Jaeger about the steel 'Mangels' he does but he only supplies them in chrome now...!! Not quite the look I want for me mud plugging Syncro!

Any other suggestions on suppliers of good rims very welcome...

yup, have done. was after something other than the regular steelies as i allready have a set (albiet 16s and not 7 inch wide).
