Wheel Studs - Longer ones, are they available
Hi,
I have a big set of 18inch alloys, but when I put them on my crewcab the studs are not long enough, can the studs be replaced by longer ones etc in the rear drums.
Cheers

£3.65 each from Machine 7
Bit of a no brainer really.
Actually I bought some from Machine 7 about 2 weeks ago and they were £2-45 each incl vat plus £5-58 for next day delivery..... Simon is still cheaper though.
Hey has anyone got the definitive way to fit these studs... Mr Brickyard advocates havig the hub off and using a hydraulic press to fit them. Slight snag with that is how many of us have a hydraulic press in the toolkit?
WIKI says you can fit them in situ .... I used this method a few years ago and found that putting the studs in the deep freeze for an hour before fitting made the job a fraction easier as they would have contracted slightly.
If at first you don't succeed, destroy all evidence that you tried.

Thanks for all the advice and links etc.
I will get myself a set of extended studs etc ordered so I can stick these alloys on.
I am going to take a piccie of it which each set of alloys on then make a decision on which set to go for.
But at least I now know I can fit both sets.
Cheers

The outside diameter is the same as the wheels I have at present with 40 profile tyres, and if there is a rubbing problem, will soon sort out with a ford fine tuning tool (12 pound ball pein)
