fuel pump problem

Post by thunderz2000 »

I have am annoying problem with my 1982 vw T25 Kameo

Every so often the van wont start. Good spark but it seems its not pulling fuel on 2 occasions now. the first ti me i manually sucked the fuel through and it started fine. Second time it would not go. Called the AA once the van was nose up in the air it started fine. Leads me to believe the fuel pump is the culprit. Am i right?...once the van starts its all good. I wonder if this is a problem u have rememdied..

thanks

Welcome to the club.

Try posting this in Technical Forum ... with engine details, like air or water cooled, fuel type and cc ... 1.6 ,2.0 aircold petrol, 1.9, 2.1 watercooled petrol or 1.6, 1.6T, 1.7, 1.9 or 1.9T Diesel.

Good luck.

Similar problem, it was the Fuel filter and difficult to draw petrol through it. Changed it and seems OK now.
