Reasons for water in oil

Hi can any body tell me how water can get into the oil
on a 1.9DG
as ive stripped the heads down and cant find any thing wrong with them

Bottom seal on the sleeve , little green elastic band one

Yes I would go along with the lower cylinder seals as a distinct posibility. When I fitted my recon heads ( given by the bloke I bought it from luckily enough) I managed to do it in the vehicle without the piston rings popping out of the cylinders and all the extra work that entails in spite of what the Haynes manual said. Think about it!
