what gasket compounds etc

i have just bought a engine gasket kit for my 2.1 wbx but it did not have any compounds for gaskets nuts etc.

what should i use on what parts? and where is good to get them?

Use hylomar for most things, the aerosol is neat as I hate to see excess orange s***e everywhere, spraying also eliminates the risk of sealant getting inside your engine. http://www.merlinmotorsport.co.uk/p6804 ... _info.html

how do you do it to not get it everywhere? you mask up or spray it on the gasketsbefore installing them?

what about on the nuts?

Can you not get Hylomar in tubes.

We use it at work in tubes but thats on aircraft assembly so it could be diffrent stuff.
I'm sure it has a picture of a car engine on the tube though?

orange hylomar is brill stuff allso the blue is brill on cork etc as for the nuts what do you mean as in thread lock?????

A search often suggests using this Loctite 5920 RTV product which can be had from Halfords for a mere £4.99 a tube, but you will have to ask the most alert assistant you can find or you will leave empty handed.,,,, :shock:

yeah i was told that a different high temp thread lock was needed, and two different types for the barrels.

You should be looking for high temperature sealer (as suggested above) for gaskets and head nuts rather than thread lock.
