fibre glass roof catches - viking / Bilbo etc

Post by ermie571 »

Hi all,

have been having the devils own job trying to find sommat that will do the job as well as the originals....tried on-line, and sent e-mail to a couple of metal fabricators advertising anything considered (apart from, it appears, vw roof catches!)....til hubby suggested our tame welder!

Well, he has just been, taken away the bit from the roof (my viking roof came with the catch incomplete - the "handle" is present, but the internal hook and fitment isn't). He can make the catch bit that sits on the body work no problem, but the hook gubbins may require a little fiddling...but he had lots of ideas at the roadside.

If Gav is sucessfu, is there anyone out there who wants/needs a new roof catch or two? He said he would get on to it Monday for me! (steve&Bev - thinking of you!)

if not, no worries!

Em
